For example, if you're supposed to give yourself 3 cc of a drug, you should be sure to get a syringe that holds exactly 3cc or just a little more than 3cc. Works great. My husband has tried a few different syringes for his doctor-prescribed, self-administered allergy shots. These are his preferred syringes. Much cheaped than the safet crap my sizee prescribed.

Pinch only the skin excluding the muscle between your thumb and index finger using your non-dominant hand.

    Reviews (26)

Pinching helps lift and isolate the subcutaneous tissues up and away from the muscle. Do NOT push the needle all the way in. Inject the serum. Note that the syringe was inserted to the hub and that the skin was not pinched prior to insertion. Most likely, the needle is in the alleggy and there is an increased risk of anaphylaxis if given improperly like this.

In our practice we have always changed the needle due to it being bathed in the allergy extract and possibly causing larger local response. The issue of removable needles is primarily to limit risk to health professionals of inadvertent injury and of infection to the patient.
